On June 17, 2008 Florida Governor Crist signed a new law that, among other things, requires local governments to address climate change in comprehensive plans with green-house gas reduction strategies, energy-efficient development patterns, and factors to increase energy conservation in housing design and construction and in other contexts. The new law took effect on July 1, 2008.

More statutes that DCA won’t enforce…
The legislation also forbids HOAs/Condo associations from banning and/or deed-restricting solar collectors and other green energy devices. This is an important step for FL.
