Renewable Energy Resources

Renewable Energy and Land Use Materials from the summer ALI-ABA Land Use Institute have been published in the ALI- ABA Business Law CLE Materials. Part I of the two-part set of materials focuses on local climate change action plans (highlighting Denver, Los Angeles, Montgomery County, Cleveland and Santa Fe), discusses local governments and LEED, Energy Star issues including preemption, and the incorporation of green development concepts into local comprehensive land use plans and local zoning and land use regulations. It can be downloaded here . Part 2 focuses on state and local government approaches to the siting of wind projects and includes a discussion of host community agreements. Examples of local ordinances are provided as well as a summary of recent relevant caselaw. It can be downloaded here .
