The Following announcement was circulated by DOJ:

The Department of Justice today issued a Report on the Tenth Anniversary of the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act, which was signed into law ten years ago tomorrow.  A press release summarizing the report is linked here.   The report shows that  the law has had a positive impact on protecting the religious freedom of a wide range of faith groups, and has had a particularly significant impact protecting the religious freedom of minorities.  Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division Thomas E. Perez presented remarks today at a RLUIPA anniversary event on Capitol Hill, where he said “RLUIPA was a response by bipartisan members of Congress to what they saw as a threat to one of our most fundamental freedoms.”
